Tool selection of quenched steel in cutting

Reasonable selection of machining tool materials is an important condition for finishing hardened steel.

Hardened steel has some characteristics in the cutting process:

(1) High strength and hardness

(2) High cutting force and high cutting temperature

(3) The cutting edge is easy to break and wear

(4) Low thermal conductivity.

According to the above characteristics, the tool material for processing hardened steel must not only have high hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance, but also a certain strength and thermal conductivity.
